It's high time to blog!

Seriously.

Spring is a dangerous thing. Too many evenings I chose running instead of scrapping. And if I didn't run, I chose to spend those precious childfree hours with my husband. Didn't feel like scrappin' and I didn't want to push it. But now I am really getting worried about my dear Mr. Mojo. I had to try to get back in touch with him before he gives up on me :-) So... this is what we have accomplished together... Mr. Mojo and I...

The first one is about Linnea's wet (but yet dry) joy. She loves jumping and playing in rain puddles. Huge puddle = huge happiness :-) Wish I had as good rain clothes as she does!

I made the next one for Skrotboken. Just one of many beautiful memories from our honeymoon - red earth of Africa.

Both layouts are made using My Scrapbook Nook's April kit featuring Echo Park "For the Record". Isn't it pretty? I love, love, love the colors!

I hope that few of you can still find your way to my silent blog. I'll try to blow some life into this place again. Cause... you know... it did feel grate to scrap again :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

I carry your Heart

This is not good. I need to start creating more often. It seems like I can't handle more than one hobby at the time. I have started to work-out again (yey!) and somehow it automatically started to take from my scrapbooking. Balance. Balance. Balance. How hard can it be?

I've had this layout in my head for a while now. Man, it felt good to make a reality of it! This is how it turned out:

I'm still into this wedding-theme :-) I wanted to make a layout with this beautiful poem by E.E. Cummings. My lovely sister read it on our wedding and I could start crying just thinking about how beautiful it was. This is how it goes:

i carry your heart with me
i carry your heart with me
(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
    I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
i want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

And here are some close-ups:

Hope you are feeling better than I am. I got a cold again, had a high fever last night... stayed at home today... but a good thing - I got some time to scrap :-) Time to pick up Linnea now. Happy scrapping!

Thanks for stopping by!

April guest for Skrotboken

Mysigt? Nä... inte speciellt...

I while ago, I was asked to guest a Swedish inspiration blog called Skrotboken. I was more than happy to accept :-) My first layout for Skrotboken was for the theme "Mobile photo". I chose to scrap a photo I took when Linnea was a little baby. The photo is from one of our (screaming) walks. No, she was never really a fan of her buggy... Crate's Emma's Shoppe was just perfect for this theme.

It's only 8 pm, but I already feel like going to bed. So tired... A glass of wine in front of the TV first... maybe... Thanks for peeking in!

More wedding

I hope you are in a mood for another wedding layout! :-)

You should see me smile while I am going through our wedding photos. You should see me smile while I am scrappin' them. You should see me smile right now.

I love him. I love him SO much.

Everything but the rub-on is Crate's Portrait. Paper, chipboard, button, ribbon... everything. The rub-on is Lily Bee Hello Sunshine.

Imported & Domestic - that's us. He: domestic. I: imported.

Is it me or is Blogger really making pictures darker? I think they look lighter when I view them with Windows Photo Viewer or with Photoshop. Humph... strange...

We are heading towards my sister's house tomorrow to celebrate my niece's baptism. I love spending time with my family! Linnea is constantly talking about her cousins and I can't wait to see her happy face when they meet. Of course, I had to make her a card but I'll share it some other time. It's time for bed now...

Thank you so much for peeking in! I will get back to you... I will... I promise...

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Just married... only 3.5 years ago...

Hey guys! Hope you are doing fine!

Sorry for not updating my blog for so long. Things have been crazy around here. From trying to survive the terrible twos to making difficult career decisions... there was really not much space left for blogging. Or for creating, for that matter.

But I did manage to make a layout last night :-) I just couldn't stand a thought that I had these pretty papers just lying around, waiting for me... 'Cause you know... I've been waiting for these papers from the day I started to scrapbook. Finally - the perfect match for my wedding photos! :-) So here it is - my first wedding layout.
(Oh... it won't be the last... I have already two more in progress... only in my head so far, but still...)

I love these pictures. We look so happy :-)

I have used the lovely Portrait collection by Crate Paper. It is just so... so... perfect... perfect in every single way. Colors, patterns, chipboard and stickers elements, borders... awww.... so pretty...

I hope it won't be this long till the next post! ;-)
Thanks for taking your time to stop by!

I told you it was beautiful!

The March Nook kit, that is. I have created my first layout using that gorgeousness. Yay!

Given that:
  1. The kit is featuring Emma's Shoppe by Crate
  2. Crate has this super inspiring sketch challenge up on their blog
I just had to play along ;-) Here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

I had so much fun making this one! Didn't want to stop... I've been really looking forward this kit, and I can tell you that it has met all my expectations. It's awesome. It's beautiful. It's playful. It has it all.

I hope you like it as much as I do. This color combination makes me happy, makes me dream of summer, makes me smile my biggest smile :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Lily Bee x 2

#1:  A Lily Bee TooOoT! My "Happy to be creating again" layout is featured on the Lily Bee blog :-) I feel so honored, so excited. Thanks Lily Bee!
God how I hope that I will get a chance to play with their new collections! Hope Swedish stores will bring them in... like - NOW! :-) I believe that one of the Nook kits will be featuring Picket Fence. Can't wait!

#2: A Lily Bee layout! This time using the Lovely collection. I bought all the Lily Bee papers I could find :-D Wish I had the Lovely rub-ons and chipboard stickers, but the Lily Bee elements were even harder to find than papers. Oh well... Here is the layout:

Linnea's 2nd birthday. We had the Jungle theme. What do you think about my Monkey cake? :-) How I laughed... It didn't turn out as imagined, but everybody loved it, especially the birthday girl. So eventually, I started to like it too ;-)

I cut the word "lovely" from the paper "name stripes". Too cute not to use :-)

I have used three different edge punches on this one, which reminds me that I need to buy more... A Jenny Bowlin rub-on is framing the "2".

Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

I simply enjoy you

I've been scrapping a lot of older pictures lately. You know why? Because I can still only take winter photos!!! Winter or indoor. With all these bright, colorful new collections I need the Sun, green grass and an outfit that doesn't include an oversized winter overall. Is that too much to ask for? ;-)

These photos are from the summer of 2009. I was still on maternity leave, simply enjoying my little baby girl. Those were the days...

I have used the Springtime collection by Echo Park for this one. The colors felt just perfect for my pictures.

Wanna know what I have right here besides me? The March kit from My Scrapbook Nook. Look at that gorgeousness! This time I ordered a whole bunch from the add-ons section, including the Crate Portrait collection kit. Emmas Shoppe + Portrait *drool* I feel paralyzed facing all this beauty. I think it will take me a day or two to start cutting them. It's not often I feel this way, but believe me - I honestly don't think a paper collection can get much better than this. Pretty. Pretty. Pretty.

Thanks for peeking in! ♥

*sigh*

Oh, well... I guess it wasn't meant to be... The new Pencil Lines DT is up, and no matter how much I kept staring at the list I couldn't find my name... sigh...

Anyway, here is the layout I applied with:

I guess I will have to scrap a little tonight to comfort myself ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs from a tiered Alex, suffering from some serious sleep deprivation... Wonder if my sweet little angel will ever learn that we all need a good night's sleep....

Happy to be creating again

I've been a different person since I started to scrap again. Yes, this hobby keeps me up late and takes from my sleep, but it gives me so much energy back. Scrapbooking makes me happy. It fulfills me. This is something I want to do for the rest of my life. Wish I could make my living playing with papers :-)

This layout is about me - happy to be creating again.

I was really pleased with this one. It's one of my personal favorites. Must be the topic ;-) I think I am slowly starting to identify my comfort zone. I like straight lines combined with interesting details. I always end up removing things from my layouts, so I think I am more of a simple-scrapper. I wish I knew how to use more flowers, more layers, but at the time it just doesn't feel like me. Hopefully, I will find that side of me too sometime in the future :-)

Here are some close-ups of these gorgeous Lily Bee papers and rub-ons. The collection is the same as in my previous post - Hello Sunshine.

Thanks so much for visiting :-) See you soon again!

1-2-3 Dive!

Oh, how I love these gorgeous papers by Lily Bee! ♥

I fell in love with their CHA releases, but I couldn't wait to get those. So I ordered this older collection called "Hello Sunshine". Love it! Love the colors, love the patterns, love the rub-ons! Lily Bee is sort of new for me. This is the first time I use their products. I've been following girls who use them, and I have always loved them, but I find them hard to get here in Sweden. Not all stores have them - but believe me - they should!

Oh... sorry... here is the layout ;-)

The photos are from our 2010 summer vacation. Linnea really enjoyed the sea. She was so cute... said that she was going to dive and than started counting... sometimes she dived on 3, sometimes on 7, sometimes on 13... we never knew when she was about to jump :-)

Don't you love the colors? I know I do :-)

Thanks for peeking in! Have a nice, creative Sunday!

Always on the Run

Hi there! Hope you are having a great day!

I am at home, taking care of my sick daughter. I am seriously starting to hate this time of the year. In February, I was at home for almost 50% of my working time!!! Most of the time I was taking care of her. Rest of the time I was taking care of my self. I think we've had our share now. Please... make it stop! Bring on the spring!

While waiting for the leaves to reappear on the trees, I made this layout using the new Springtime collection by Echo Park.

The layout is about how rarely we get to see Linnea walk. I have wondered if she knows how to :-) Well, not any more actually... These days she seems to have learned how to control her own legs. But last year... Last year she was always running!

I was inspired to create this butterfly-tree by this picture I found on Etsy:

"Birds of a Feather" by Laura McCabe.

I love Etsy! The place is loaded with inspiration!

Time for the two of us to try to take a nap. I say "try" because I'm pretty sure that Linnea will try to object ;-)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice weekend!

Look! Look! Look!

Look here! You see? That's my layout!!! The biggest one! My first publication! :-) *doing my happy dance* (oh, you don't wanna see my happy dance... it's geeky... but hey... so happy!)

A Boy Card

It's interesting how some people can make such a strong impression on you. You just like them from day one. Or should I say from minute one? There is this new guy (boy?) at my work... there is something about him... something that I just simply enjoy... He's turning 25 now. Yes, you read it right - 25!  It feels kinda strange when people who are younger than my little sister (my sis will always stand for "the young") start working with you! Makes me feel old! Anyhow... I wanted to make a birthday card for this new guy (boy?)... from the whole team of course :-) This is how it turned out.

Echo Park ännu en gång :-) Little Boy...

Echo Park once again :-) Little Boy collection... Man, aren't they going to have a DT call soon???
Feel for some blog hopping right now... It was a while ago I had time for that...
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a nice day!

Not a card maker

No, I am not a card maker. I make cards only when I really need them. Like now, when my lovely sister-in-law is having her birthday. We are going to visit her later today, so I am really hoping that she is too busy to peek in here right now ;-)
When I actually do take a chance and make a card I always have so much fun! Maybe I should be considering doing it a little bit more often, just for fun... Anyhow, here comes my card:

I've played with stickers-negatives again. I cut the pink heart negatives and used them along with the glossy, transparent stickers-sheet underneath. I really liked the effect. Will be using that technique again...

Papers and stickers are Little Girl by Echo Park and that beautiful purple bloomer is by Websters Pages.

Thank you so much for stopping by! It's time for me to start straightening my hair (I have a lot!) to get ready for SIL's birthday party. Step #1 of my little"making Alex pretty procedure" :-) Have a lovely Sunday!

This is my style

This is going to be a really short post. I should be in my bed right now... I was just supposed to print the photos I wanted to scrap. Then I though that I could take a closer look at the papers i wanted to use. Take a minute or two to think about the design... All the sudden (read: after 2 hours) I had this layout in front of me :-) And now, I can just as well take a minute or two (?) and blog about it... ;-) Yeah, right...

The page is about my style. At the moment I LOVE Noa Noa. You can't see it in the picture, but even my tights are by Noa Noa :-) I think it was worth a layout... The photos were taken last weekend at The Studio (model for a day thing). This is something I've wanted to do for some time now. And believe it or not - somehow I even got my husband to join me! Still in shock.... *happy*

Off to bed now... oh... first I just need to clean up the scrappy mess I've made... sigh... Thanks for stopping by! Sleepy hugs!

My music girl

It was a while since my last post. Time to do something about it ;-)
Here is a layout about my little music girl. She got a pink CD-player from Santa this year. It was one of the few things on her wish list. She loves listening to loud music! We often argue about how loud is too loud. But it is hard to be tough when you see her laugh and dance. So we compromised and said that she is allowed to have it loud when her favorite song is playing. The only problem is that she claims that all songs are her favorites...

Kollektionen är Little Girl från Echo Park. Lite svårfotade färger. De känns faktiskt finare i verkligheten.

The papers are from Echo Park, the Little Girl collection. I find these colors a little bit hard to photograph. I think they look better irl.

Thank you so much for all the comments you leave behind you! They make me smile 24/7 :-) Thanks for peeking in! Hope to see you soon again!

3 little girl cousins

Little Girl collection by Echo Park is just too adorable! I can't say it enough :-) I wanted more before I even finished this layout I was working one... I just wanted to keep playing with those pretty papers. They are so fun to work with!
The layout is about 3 little girl cousins, here - still waring pajamas. :-)  I love seeing them together!

As soon as I saw this big "little girl" stickers, I got the idea to use it for this title. Clever, huh? ;-) *patting my own shoulder*

I have used the only butterfly punch I have. It's the one by Martha Stewart. I have to buy more butterfly punches in different shapes and sizes! Me looooove butterflies... I wanted to use a twine as a track behind the butterfly, but I didn't know how to attach it to the paper. I was pretty happy when I saw all these cute little hearts among Little Girl element stickers :-)

Tack så hemskt mycket för besöket! Hoppas vi ses snart igen! Ha det fint!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope to see you soon again! Have a nice day!

Push me to the Moon!

Ever since Linnea was a little baby, she has always loved to swing. It doesn't matter if it's summer outside or if it's freaking cold like it is today. Not so very long ago, I had to dig a hole in the snow under her feet so she could swing for couple of minutes (!). She wants to be pushed really hard because she wants to swing all the way to the moon :-) I love seeing her this happy...

As soon as I saw the Good Day Sunshine collection, I new that this photo was perfect to scrap. The layout didn't really turn out as imagined, but that's another story... :-) I love using "negatives" of the die-cut embellishments. You know, the border that is left on the sheet when you take the real embellishment. On this layout, I have used the negative of the dotted scallop and of the yellow flower. I made a new flower of the "flower negative" and a die-cut button from the same sheet. I think it's a fun way to create interesting elements for your layouts.

Ses!

I have finally got the Little Girl collection by Echo Park! Yay x 3! It's adorable! And I think that I just might have the perfect photo to scrap ;-) So next time I have something to blog about, it will probably be an Echo Park layout. Until then... thanks for peeking in and for all the love you guys leave behind you! I can't describe how much I appreciate it! See you!
