Quick update

Hi guys! Long time no see! :-)

I am finally starting to feel a little better. Three months of nausea, tiredness and these last couple of weeks even terrible migraines have drained me. But it's all for something good. It's all for this:

In January we will finally have another baby! We've been dreaming about this for two years! :-) Can't tell you how happy I am... even though it has cost me all the energy I've had. Can't remember last time I've felt this bad... But as I said, it's getting better. Soon, maybe, I'll even get a chance to scrap again. It has not been easy to stay up late at nights. I miss it so...

We are leaving town tomorrow for two weeks vacation and before I leave I wanted to remind you that we have a fun Summer crop going on over at The Nook. Come over and play with us! I am sure you will find a lot of inspiration over there. My challenge this time is to make a layout about something you (or someone close to you) like to enjoy in the summer. In our family we love sitting on the porch and having our meals outside. Here is Linnea enjoying her breakfast in the sun.

I've made this layout using the lovely June kit and the grab bag from My Scrapbook Nook kits. And talking about kits - have you seen this baby?

The july kit features beautiful My Mind's Eye Indie Chic papers.Sooooo pretty!

When I get back home I really hope that I'll be feeling good enough to play with these beauties. I can't wait to make a mess on my scrap desk again!

Wishing you all a lovely summer and sending some BIG hugs your way!

My first class is up!

Hi everyone! Those of you who have been following me, have probably never seen an altered item in this blog :-) Altered items are really outside my comfort zone, but I had to challenge my self and give it a try. And not only that I made something altered, I also made a class about it! I am so freaking nervous about that part...

I made this cute little fridge magnet using the June kit and the June grab bag from My Scrapbook Nook.

From this:

You can find the whole class on the Nook blog. Hope you are going to enjoy it! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Pooh Love

Hi friends!

Guess it's time for a new layout, huh? ;-) It's been a while, I know. I think of it a lot and I often play with paper in my head, but when evenings come (that's when I usually get some me-time), I simply crash. Soooo tired!

Anyhow, I have promised myself to scrap at least a little to keep my juices flow during these heavy times. It has to get better soon... Here is a layout I would like to share with you today.

I used to looooove Winnie the Pooh when I was younger. And by "younger" I don't mean when I was a kid ;-) Linnea got my entire collection when she was just a baby, so I guess I kind of forced her to love him too *giggles* Love this shot of her and my big, old friend :-)

For this layout, I have used the June kit from My Scrapbook Nook, featuring Simple Stories Summer Fresh line and the fabulous June grab bag. Love this kit!

Talking about Summer Fresh... I hope you are ready for some real summer fun!

My Scrapbook Nook is having a summer crop with lot of inspiring challenges and I really hope that you are going to join us :-) There is nothing like a Nook crop! So many talented, sweet and lovable girls from all over the world, sharing and having fun together. Be sure to check the forum tomorrow for more information.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by today. And if you have some energy over, I'll be happy to share it with you ;-)
Hugs!

Play like Daddy

Hi guys! I am sorry that I've been offline a lot lately. Believe me, I have a good reason. I just can't share it with you yet... but soon... (and no, it's not related to scrapbooking :-))

Anyhow, I have a new layout to show you. I received my June kit from My Scrapbook Nook and it is beyond beautiful. The kit features one of my favorite summer collections this season, Simple Stories Summer Fresh. Here it comes...

Linnea wanted to try to play tennis like her dad. It was a little bit harder than she thought it would be :-)

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I'll be back to normal soon...
Hugs!

Yummy Cake

I love sharing my kitchen with Linnea. Especially when she is in a good mood :-) This day she wanted to make a cake...

I told you to expect more Pretty Party layouts ;-) Love this Crate Paper line! How perfect are these strawberries?

Love layering Crate chipboards and cut-outs...

When you are in love with every single paper in a collection, you just want them all on your layout :-) I like using stripes to mix many different patterns and colors...

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!

Gamine

I think you've met Leah before. She is my youngest niece. I love the look in her eyes in this picture. Her fun and playful personality shines right through the photography :-)

I used the May kit from My Scrapbook Nook, featuring Echo Park This & That Graceful collection. It's adorable!

Once again, blogger made my photos look grey. The colors are much brighter when opened with another viewer... grrrrr!

Now let me show you something else. A while ago one of my layouts made Friday Fave over at American Crafts' FB page. I have received my prize pack and - WOW! It was the most generous box ever! Look at it!

The box was loaded with Dear Lizzy Neapolitan papers, ribbons, ruffled crepe paper, paper flowers, stickers, thickers and that lovely pink roller stamp! How generous was that??? Thank you American Crafts! I can't wait to start playing with it! So... I guess what I want to say is - be sure to submit any of your projects to their FB ;-)

Thanks for peeking in today!

Lazy Days

There is definitely no such thing as lazy days at the time being, but it's nice dreaming about them...

This is me, soaking up the sun on Gran Canaria last summer. The moment I saw this gorgeous line by Heidi Swapp, I knew I had the right picture for it :-) The line is called Sugar Chick and it is so bold and beautiful at the same time. I also had to get me some disco arrows, neon tape and trimmings as well as coordinated buzz words and colorful instaframes

I can't believe this is my first time using Heidi Swapp products! They are so fun. Me like!

Thanks for stopping by!

More Pretty Party...

I am so glad that I finally got to scrap Linnea's 3rd birthday! I mean... in only few months she'll be turning 4 so it was really about time to get it done :-) Here she is, waiting to blow out the candle on her fairy-cake.

I am not so sure how I feel about this one. I had an idea (that seemed to be sooo good) but the layout didn't turn out like the image in my head... I hate it when it happens...

I used the adorable Pretty Party line from Crate Paper. You can count on seeing more layouts using the same line in the near future, because I am madly, deeply in L.O.V.E :-)

See you around my dear creative friends!

Monday, May 14, 2012

Finally!

Pretty Party is in da house! Yay!

I pre-ordered this beautiful Crate Paper collection and yet it took me forever to get it. But now it's here and it's even prettier irl! I've been saving Linnea's birthday photos for this line. It's a match made in haven :-)

Isn't she adorable?

I love mixing Crate's chipboards, cut-outs and stickers. It's such an easy way to add dimension to your layout. See these cute little wooden birds from Studio Calico? I'm in LOVE!

Man, it felt good to get this layout out of my system! I've been dying to play with this line :-)
Thanks for taking your time to stop by today!

To my Mom

When I see a sticker with the word "daughter" on it, I usually think of my own daughter and the sticker most often ends up on a layout about her. This time, the word "daughter" inspired me to make something different. I remembered that I am a daughter too. And not just any daughter, I am a daughter to the most wonderful, most lovable woman in the world. This layout is for you, mom.

This is my first DT layout for My Scrapbook Nook, using the lovely May kit. The kit features adoooorable Echo Park This & That Graceful collection. Love, love, love! I hope you like it too.

I am having a busy (but fun) week. I feel bad for not having time to hop around and give back some of the love you are leaving in here. It's just one of those weeks... but it will pass.

Thanks for stopping by my dear friends! I'll see you soon again!

May Movie Madness Crop: Movie Title challenge

Hi guys! I hope that you have joined us over at My Scrapbook Nook. We are having a big May Movie Madness crop with lots of fun and inspiring challenges. And the prize? Well, the prize couldn't be better! You can win a 3 months kit subscription! How awesome is that???

My challenge for you is to pick a movie title and use it on your layout. You can read more about it and on how to participate here. For my layout, I chose the title "Catch me if you can" which is perfect for a layout about my daughter. She is never still!

I have mixed different Crate Paper collections for this one: Emma's Shoppe, Portrait and Random

To create the arrows I have used Cameo and the shape arrows: grunge.

There are so many good, catchy titles out there ready to be used ;-) I hope you feel inspired to give it a try!

Now to something else. See my "Facial Expressions" layout below? I do like it, but I never expected it to get any attention out there. It didn't feel that special. But I guess that there is something about it since Lily Bee chose to showcase it on their blog AND at the same time it was featured on 2 Peas. Lily Bee happiness x 2! Such a sweet surprise for a big Lily Bee fan like me! :-)

Me so happy! :-)

Thank you so much for taking your time to stop by today! I'll see you soon again!
Have a lovely Sunday!

Facial Expressions

I don't know what to tell you about the story behind this layout. I believe that the pictures speak for themselves.

These are not her "funny faces". This is how she looks like when she tells a story. Worth mentioning: I've heard my husband say that she's got that from me! It's cute when you are 3, but when you are 30??? Um...

This layout is my take on Lily Bee's sketch challenge #8. When I was done with it, I realized that it reminds me of one of my old layouts. Funny, because I followed the sketch pretty literally. It must be the sketch that reminded of my old layout to start with :-) Oh, never mind... I like how this one turned out!

Thanks for peeking in my dear creative friends! And thank you for all the sweet words you are leaving behind you. Hope to see you soon again!

{heart} this smile

I know, you have heard it before, but I really do; I love her smile!

I made this layout for the "Lift the person above you" challenge over at My Scrapbook Nook. I lifted THIS layout by Amanda Jane.  Love all these fun little challenges at the Nook. If you ever feel that you need an inspiration boost, come over and play with us! There is always something going on.

I have used the lovely April kit featuring Crate Paper Story Teller line. Definitely one of my favorite collections. I've been loving this white-on-white trend that has been going on for some time now. I wanted to try it, so I adhered a lot of little white hearts on a white cardstock to create some texture. I really like how it turned out. Cameo helped me create the title...

Thank you so much for stopping by. And THANK YOU for all the congratulations about the Nook design team, both here and on my Facebook page. I love sharing my happiness with you!

So, did you hear me scream? :-)

I'm sure my entire neighborhood did (and it was midnight over here when Leah announced the team!). Yep, I made it! Can you believe it??? I made the My Scrapbook Nook design team! Crazy!

I slept around 3 hours last night, but I've been smiling the whole day. I am over the moon about this! Can't remember the last time I was this excited (and nervous at the same time!). I am so grateful for this opportunity. At the same time, my heart hurts for all those amazing ladies who share this dream, but who didn't make it this time. I know so well how it feels. But now I also know that you should never give up on your dream. They do come true, after all :-)

Only 4 of us joined the team this time. The other 3 ladies who made it all the way (in case you didn't hear them scream yesterday) are:

And these lovely, super talented veterans are returning for another term:

Can you see now why I am so excited and so nervous??? I'll be working side by side with my big idols! *giggles* Surreal.

So, wanna see what I'll be getting in my first DT kit

I can hear you sigh! That's okay... I do that every time I see this gorgeous picture too ;-) The kit features Echo Park's "This and That Graceful" collection with additional ruffled trim, Maya Road canvas butterflies, button straight pins, bling/jewels from Petaloo, and some gorgeous coordinating chipboard! I am dying to lay my hands on it! Can't wait!

But that is not all! Let me introduce the May Grab Bag to you:

Grab Bags are hot so hurry and grab one while you can! This month's Grab Bag features paper from Echo Park's "This and That Charming" collection. And the great deal is that if you join the club in May you will receive the June kit for FREE along w/a free June Grab Bag. You will also receive another free kit after 12 paid months! Two FREE kits and a grab bag when you sign up for 12 months! How cool is that? :-)

Thank you so much for taking your time to stop by! I am looking forward to sharing my DT work with you!

A Doll

Hi there, my dear creative friends! I miss updating my blog X times a week, but I am not going to push it this time. 1-2 times a week is still better than a total silence, isn't it? I've learned my lesson. Work + scrapbooking can be true. All I need is balance. Yep, it's simple as that ;-)

Today I am going to share my take on last week's Thursday sketch on October Afternoon's blog. So, can you guess what I've been playing with???

Oh yeah, I got me a Cameo!!! Happy times! :D For this layout I have used a shape called diamond pattern. I have used Mr.C only once and I am already in love! I have a feeling that we are going to have so much fun together, Mr.C and I.

I have used papers and stickers from the lovely OA Sidewalks line. I chose to keep it simple this time; both the design and the title. "A doll", that's what she is.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that I will have some happy news to share with you next time. Tomorrow is time for the new My Scrapbook Nook team to be announced. Eeeeeek! I am so nervous I can't even think about it.
Hope to see you soon again!

Thousands of Little Moments...

...make life big.

There is a challenge over at My Scrapbook Nook with focus on titles. There are so many different ways to find inspiration for fun titles. One of my favorite inspiration sources is quotes. For this layout I was inspired by this quote I found on Pinterest.

I didn't use it as it is, because I wanted to incorporate a lovely Storyteller tag in my design :-) Instead I chose to call this page: "Thousands of little moments make life big".

That is so true. I cherish every single moment spent with Linnea. They fill my life with joy and true unconditional love.

I created this little embellishment using Epiphany Crafts Tool Round 25 that I won on Katarina's blog a while ago. Thank you, sweet Kat! I love it!

I guess you recognize the April kit from My Scrapbook Nook by now :-) Crate Paper Story Teller line still makes my heart jump! Love it so much!

As of this week, I am a working mom again and I guess that my new job will affect the frequency of my blog posts. But I promise you, I won't give up scrapbooking this time! I just won't be able to keep updating my blog as often. I hope though that you will still keep peeking in! ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

A Brand New Haircut

I got a new haircut this week and I am loooooving it! I love it so much that I had to make a layout about it :-)

I feel like a movie star! I hope I'll be able to style it like this by my own, cause I'm loving the feeling! ;-) I have used the April kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Crate Paper Story Teller line. Can't tell you enough how much I love it!

Thanks for stopping by my dear creative friends!

Practice makes Perfect

Yaaaay! I finally got my April kit from My Scrapbook Nook! I've been dying to get this one! It features Crate Paper Story Teller collection, one of my favorite CHA releases. It didn't take me long to create my first layout :-)

Once again, I fell in love with a paper *sigh* How can you not love this collection??? How can you not love Crate? Seriously, this kit is breathtaking!

The layout is about Linnea practicing to whistle. She's been constantly trying for weeks until one day when it finally happened. She got the hang of it! :-) She is really good now. Once again, she has proved that practice makes perfect.

Pretty, pretty papers for a pretty, pretty girl!

Oh, wanna hear something exciting? My Mind's Eye have started a new feature on their blog, called I Spy With MME. And guess what? My "Caught in the Moment" layout was featured in the first post! Check it out here! I was over the moon when Stephanie emailed me asking if they could publish my layout. Took me one second to send "YES!" back to her. I am thrilled, flattered and so very, very honored!

Thank you for taking your time to stop by today. I love the foot prints you are leaving behind you ;-)

My Man

A while ago I won a sketch challenge over at Lily Bee's blog and yesterday I received my prize pack. Yay! I got the gorgeous Victoria Park collection! How fun! Thank you SO much Kristen!

As soon as my daughter went to bed, my creative juices started to flow. This is what I came up with.

I love the color scheme of Victoria Park. It is so versatile. I adore the coordinated stickers that come with every collection. Here I have cut the whole set of little banners from the stickers ark and used it as a stripe under my photos.

The {i LOVE you} journaling card is from the Head over Heels collection. It goes so well together with Victoria Park and it is just perfect for a layout about my beautiful husband ;-)

I am soooooo nervous today! Today is a big day. The day when Leah is going to announce the finalist of the My Scrapbook Nook DT call. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I. Can't. Breath.

Thanks for stopping by my dear creative friends!

EDIT: I've made THE LIST! I've made THE LIST!!! I am a finalist! *giggles* Now, it's not over yet. We are 23 excited girls on that list and there are only a few spots open. But hey! I am one step closer to fulfilling my dream :-) Must. Sleep. Now.

Play

I am sure you will all agree with me when I say that there is nothing like a child's imagination. Linnea loves all kind of role-playing games. Everything from just having a simple tea party like here to pretending to be a safari guide deep in the jungle. I am not surprised considering the amount of books we read every single day. I love watching her play (and somehow I always get involved!).

I made this layout for a Thursday sketch challenge on October Afternoon's blog. It was really a fun one this time with cluster of elements above the photo. Not something I usually do, but I liked how it turned out.

I used the adorable Sidewalks collection. Love the colors and all the playful stickers elements. I've used a lot of 3d dots here to add some dimension.

Fun, isn't it? :-) Thanks for taking your time to stop by. Wishing you all a very happy Easter!
