Paper Issues: Lifestyles to 'die' for

Have you checked out the latest issue over at Paper Issues? It's all about "Lifestyles to 'die' for" this time. Our sponsor is Lifestyle Crafts and they are giving away SEVEN prize packs. Do you wanna be one of the lucky winners? Check out the PI blog for the details. You can link up any projects, new or old, featuring dies or something from your everyday life.

I don't have any traditional die cut machine, so I went for the everyday life theme. I got my new DT box from October Afternoon  and it was loaded with lots of new Travel Girl goodies. OA never disappoints me. The Travel Girl is beyond gorgeous!!! I had to play with it the second I saw it :D So i pulled out those pretty papers (even if it hurt to cut them!), and made a layout about one thing that keeps me alive - coffee.

I try to avoid coffee since I am nursing, but some days it's a must. If he only could start sleeping properly... So, tell me... Don't you looooove this line??? I know I do. I am madly, deeply in love!

I punched out the numbers 1-3 from the Subway Token paper.

Love the Traveler stamp set! Those stamped arrows was the very last thing I added to this layout... hum... guess if I was nervous about ruining the whole thing??? See those pretty alphas? The word "cups" is the Travel Girl alphas, but all those other stickers are from the Daily Flash collection. YUMMY! You are all going to love it!

I cut that cute little "Do Not Disturb" sign from the Room Key paper. Yes, I prefer not to be disturbed while enjoying my coffee... but in reality I am often drinking it after it got cold, holding Adrian in my arms :D

When I cut the hearts I have underneath my photo, I really liked how the negative pieces looked together. So I had to use them too. Not a single piece of this beautiful collection should be thrown away! :D

I hope I have inspired you to head over to Paper Issues and link up some of your dies/everyday life projects!

Also, I hope I have inspired you to get your own Travel Girl to play with! Can't tell you enough how much I love it. If you would like to get it, I know the right place! You can find the paper pack HERE in the Paper Issues shop. If there is anything else you want, just email Cassie (her address is listed in the shop) and throw her a question. If OA has it in stock, she will probably be able to get it for you. And don't forget to use my code ALEX20 to get 20% off your entire order ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and for letting me share my OA + PI love with you!

Arrows, arrows, everywhere

I am loving the arrow trend that is all around us right now. I have always used a lot of arrows on my layouts, but this time I wanted to try something different. I made the whole background for my photo out of arrows.

I bought these 13 arrows in the Silhouette store and cut them all together. I really liked the look of the set, so I arranged the arrows the same way on my page.

Once again, I have used the Lucky Charm from American Crafts. I love all the fun little bits and pieces of this collection. It basically scraps itself!

I cut the "lucky ♥ charm" text from the strips at the bottom of the papers and used them as embellishments.

Love that cute flair! Oh and those glittery Spearmint Treasure thickers are to die for! Soooo pretty! You can get your pack HERE. Use ALEX20 to get 20% off. Wonder if I am ever gonna get enough of this collection :-)

I think I am going to go and create something for the new issue over at Paper Issues now. The issue is called Lifestyles to "Die" for and is sponsored by Lifestyle Crafts. Head over to the blog and check it out. There will be seven winners who will get some new Lifestyle Crafts dies! Go and take a chance!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely Indie Chic

I remember how much I liked My Mind's Eye Indie Chic collection when it got released. Yet for some reason, I never bought it. But thanks to Pyssloteket, one year later, I finally got to play with it :-) Indie Chic was a nice surprise in my GTD box.

Here is a layout I made with it. Adrian @ 2 months.

A piece of washi tape from Glitz was perfect here.

And so was this cute little heart stamp from Elle's Studio.

Love documenting my kids development stages like this. A month may sound like a short period of time, but it's huge when they are this little. So much happens in one month and it is so easy to forget when they've learned what. This is one of the reasons why I love scrapbooking ;-)

Thanks for peeking in!

October Afternoon: With Love for Patterns

I am up on the OA blog today with a challenge. My very first OA challenge! Tee Hee!

It's all about my love for patterned papers! My challenge for you is to use five or more patterned papers on your layout/card. Mixing and matching patterns is my favorite technique (if you can call it a technique...).

Linnea and her favorite cousin are having fun at Skansen.

Stripes are a perfect way to include many different papers on one page. Here, I let every stripe end with a ring of the same pattern.

I built up my title using different elements from this lovely Midway collection. It's definitely one of my favorite OA collections ever! (I guess I say that a lot, ha? LOL)

So, head over to OA and check out what Roree made for you, too! She is joining me today. I hope you will take my challenge and start mixing patterns!

Thanks for stopping by!

My 2 Blessings

I just had night #3 with no sleep. It feels in my whole body... Adrian has a cold with fever and a runny nose. On top of that he has two teeth coming through (already!), which makes him even more clinging. It could be the teeth giving him all those cold symptoms... I don't know... I just want it to be over...

Yesterday I finally scrapped again. It gave me at least some energy back :-)

Here is the outcome:

Even though they keep me awake and can literally drive me crazy, that's what they are - my 2 blessings.

I played again with the lovely Trend Setter line from Fancy Pants. It's just so beautiful and so versatile.

Yes, I love this girl and I love that boy ♥

I really like the frames that come with the collection. Instead of using them as they are, I cut them to make them even more interesting. You can get those frames HERE in the Paper Issues' shop. Actually, everything you see on this layout, you can get from Paper Issues :-) Feel free to use my code ALEX20 to get 20% off your order. This collection is just too lovely to miss!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you soon again!

Smile on the Run

I am sure you all know how it feels to struggle with a layout... Argh! This layout is one of those... one of those that can drive you crazy... that just never seem to feel complete... I was so close to give up on it! Several times. But instead, I kept struggling.. adding and removing... and here it is now... ready to share :-)

The layout is about my sweet little daughter who is always on the run. It is impossible to take a good picture of her. But if I ask her to, she is always willing to stop for a short second and give me her "photo"-smile... if only on the run :-)

I have used the Park Bench collection from Fancy Pants. I love it!

There are two different chevron papers in this collection, so I cut the pattern from the blue and yellow one and adhered to the black and white paper using 3d-dots. I like the effect.

Those wooden hearts from Freckled Fawn are just too cute! After all struggling, I am pretty happy with the result. It was worth it :-)

I got my Park Bench collection from Paper Issues, and you can do the same HERE. You can use my code ALEX20 to get 20% of your order.

Oh, and don't forget to link up your Pink Paislee and/or Mother's Day projects to Paper Issues blog. You can win one of two gorgeous Pink Paislee prize packs!

Thanks for stopping by!

Our super duper sponsor this time is Pink Paislee! Yay! Rebecca sent us her gorgeous, beyond beautiful Hope Chest collection. I loved playing with it!

And here are some yummy closeups:

Those burlap butterflies are to die for!

And so are the butterfly clips!

I love the 3x4 journaling cards and all the bits and pieces that come with this collection. We also got the gold glittery alphas from the Luxe collection. Gorgeous! Made me wanna play with the whole Luxe too!

I wanted to pick up the pink from my photos, so I added some flair, Heidi Swapp neon washi tape and some pink mist splatters.

Thank you Pink Paislee for sending us all this gorgeousness!

I hope to see many projects from you guys! The theme for this issue is "Mothers Day". In case you don't have any Pink Paislee projects to share with us, link up something that fits under the theme. You could be one of the two lucky winners of the Hope Chest line! ;-)

You Rock My World

Everything she does, she does with passion. When I saw her rock like this, I just had to pull out my camera ;-)

I was so happy when my box from Paper Issues arrived, because I've been dying to use the Trend Setter collection by Fancy Pants. And I have to tell you, it didn't disappoint me. It's so beautiful!

I cut the title with my Cameo using the "You Rock"-phrase by KI Memories.

Oh yeah!

Webster's Pages washi tape and Cameo border by Lori Whitlock. I used all the little stars that were left from the border all over my page. Stars for my little rock star! :-)

Must tell you, these papers and this photo felt like a match made in haven...

Do you want your own Trend Setter to play with? Head over to the Paper Issues shop and get some! And as usual, feel free to use my code ALEX20 to get 20% discount on your entire order (and to let my boss know that I am doing a good job as her designer ;-)).

Be sure to check the Paper Issues blog on Sunday! A new issue is going live!
See you then!

My First October Afternoon Layout

The day has come, my first DT layout for October Afternoon is up! Eeeeeeek!

I had the pleasure to work with super talented Amy Heller for this post (Can you believe it? Amy has been my idol for years!!!). I got a chance to interpret this sketch by Amy:

And this is how my layout turned out:

You may wonder how in the world that sketch turned into this layout :-) You can read more about it on OA's blog

I have used the wonderful Woodland Park collection, plus Midway washi tape.

Head over to OA to see Amy's interpretation of the sketch. Be ready to get inspired!

I hope to see your own creation in our Flickr gallery!
