Paper Issues: Simple Scrapper Sketches

We have a sketch issue this week!

Simple Scrapper is sponsoring Paper Issues and we got this fun sketch to play with.

It didn't take me long to get started. The sketch is so inspiring! This is what I've made.

I have played with the Cameron collection from Elle's Studio this time. I love it so much! Love all the little bits and pieces. The "everyday" arrow is actually cut from the vellum from the Saltwater collection.

Instead of using circles, I cut this diamond-like background with my Cameo. I adhered the "leftover" shapes at the both sides of my page in order to achieve a balanced overall feeling.

I wrote my journaling as well as my title with a black Silhouette sketch pen.

Love how well these papers match my photos :-)

I hope you feel inspired to come over and play with us! Simple Scrapper is giving away 2 prizes: a trial membership and a download version of Everyday Storyteller Vol. 1 and Everyday Storyteller Vol. 2. Check out the Paper Issues blog for more details.

Do you know that you can get your own Elle's Studio goodies in the PI shop? Check it out HERE. Use my code ALEX20 to receive 20% off your entire order.

OA: Daily Flash All Boy

I made this layout for my friend Danni's awesome sketch challenge over at the October Afternoon's blog.

I've had this photo lying around for months, waiting for the right papers. When I saw OA's new Daily Flash All Boy line, I knew it was a match made in haven.

I love all the bits and pieces that come with every Daily Flash mini collection. The tin pins are my favorites!

I drew the stars with my Cameo, using several different sketch pens. I got a set of 24 sketch pens from Paper Issues and I can't imagine my life without them. Look at all this beautiful colors!

I am now waiting for some glitter and metallic ones for even more fun :-) If you want a pack of pens, check out the shop. If the pens are not listed at the moment, just throw a message to Cassie and she will get them for you. Just to be sure... You know that you can get 20% off if you use the code "HELLO", right? ;-)

And don't forget to keep an eye on the Paper Issues shop! This gorgeous Daily Flash line from October Afternoon will be coming up very, very soon!

Tilted Crate Paper layout

I saw a post on Crate's blog encouraging us to create a tilted layout. I've noticed the tilted trend and I already wanted to give it a try, so I took a chance and created this.

If you know my work, then you have probably noticed that I love straight lines. Tilting things is against my nature LOL I just couldn't tilt the whole layout, so I kept the edges straight and only tilted the section with the photo. Actually, I kinda cheated... Instead of tilting the photo on my page, I rotated it in Photoshop before I printed it. That way, I could have straight vertical lines and still achieve the tilted look. I like how it turned out.

I still haven't got enough of The Pier :-) Love the ephemera pack, the chipboards, the stickers... Scrapping with The Pier is a pure joy!

The red border sticker is from the Storyteller collection. All the buttons are also from different older Crate lines.

Give me a chevron paper and I will pull out my knife...

It's a liberating feeling knowing that I have managed to create something that is (partially) tilted! Ha! Thank you Crate Paper for the fun inspiration!

There is still some Pier left in the Paper Issues shop! Grab yours before it's too late! And don't forget to use the code "HELLO" to get 20% off.

Life.Paper.Scrapbook: Color Challenge

Hi everyone! Are you ready for a new color challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook? This month we are playing with this lovely and warm color palette:

I often use bright and happy colors when I scrap, so I really had to dig through my stash to find something to play with :-) I chose parts of the Midway collection from October Afternoon. I admit, it was hard for me to exclude the blues and the greens from this lovely line, so I feel a little bit proud of myself for succeeding :-) This is how my layout turned out.

I love this photo sequence of my son rolling. He was so happy when he finally figured out how to do it :-)

I hope you feel inspired to play along with us this month! Our AWESOME sponsor is American Crafts and they are giving away an Amy Tangerine prize pack.

I know I would love to win, so yep... I am a little bit jealous of you who have a chance ;-) Now head over to Life.Paper.Scrapbook to see all the details. I hope to see your work!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!

OA Daily Flash Girl Talk

Every time I receive a DT box from OA, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was when I saw the new Daily Flash Girl Talk mini collection. I instantly knew which photo I wanted to scrap. I printed my favorite photo of me and my girl and made this:

I almost cried cutting out the feathers from the Whisper paper! It's my favorite paper of them all!

I cut the biggest ampersand from one of the memory cards and the other two from the Giggle paper. Love that cute little tin pin

The big red heart is also cut from one of the memory cards. Yep, I love playing with my scissors ;-)

Those cute speech bubbles are from the Flash Blurbs pack. OA really knows how to make scrapbooking easy for us :-)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this line!

Here is our sketch this month:

And this is how my take turned out:

Once again, I played with The Pier collection from Crate Paper. I can't get enough of it!

Love the chipboard elements!

I wanted to make the circle from the sketch a little less obvious, so I went looking for a suitable background in the Silhouette store. When I saw this one, it immediately felt perfect.

I looooove this one! Is it okay to say so? Well, I just did :D Some layouts just turn out exactly how you wanted them to be. This one is one of those.

I hope you like it too! Come over to Life.Paper.Scrapbook and play with us!
