October Afternoon: DF Girl Talk

Hi guys! Last week I had a challenge and this layout up on the October Afternoon blog. This must be one of my favorite layouts ever.

I used the Daily Flash Girl Talk line, one of my favorite collections right now. It's awesome!

The Love cut file is from Two Peas in a Bucket.

Gotta love those tiny little puffy hearts! ♥

I was thrilled to see this layout get featured over at Two Peas. It's funny how things like this can make me feel ridicuosly happy :-)

I have some great new to share with you. I started a new job this week! I am now working as a software engineer for Elekta. From now on, my software is going to treat cancer and brain disorders! Eeeeeeek! Intimidating? Oh, yeah!! But so freaking exciting, too!!! I am so proud to be a part of this amazing company! But I promise not to let it steal all my scrappy time ;-)

Have a great day everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

EDIT: I am linking up this layout for the "Pocket Full of Sunshine" issue over at Paper Issues. Using flair :-)

Paper Issues: Color by the Numbers

Hi guys! Ready for a new issue from Paper Issues? The new theme is "Color by the Numbers" and our awesome sponsor is Pinkfresh Studio. They are giving away a goodie bag filled with their products (which I love by the way!!). Head over to the PI blog and read all about how you can win this awesome giveaway!

Here is my layout for this issue.

I wanted to use a lot of colors on my layout, but as you know I am really not a messy, artsy scrapper. I almost never use paint or mists or water colors or you name it. I did however invest in pretty Zing! embossing powders so I pulled them out and started to play. I used the heart stamp from the Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party collection by American Crafts and started to make and cut the hearts. I wanted to use the Love you more! collection from Elle's Studio and luckily I had the perfect Zing colors for that ;-)

The colors I used are Aqua, Rose, Apricot, Mustard and Rouge. Aren't they pretty? The tiny two-colored wooden hearts from Pinkfresh Studio felt perfect here.

That's me and my daughter on our girls' day out. Days like that make me ridicuously happy ♥

The "big smiles" wood veneer is also by Elle's Studio but from the Everyday Moments line.

I can't wait to see all your interpretations of the "Color by the Numbers" theme. Check out the PI blog for inspiration and link up your projects for a chance to win this goodie bag from Pinkfresh Studio.

Thanks for stopping by today!

October Afternoon: Cool Colors

Hi guys! Hope you are having a great week!

I just wanted to share a layout I had on the October Afternoon blog this week. I made it for a fun challenge by Amy Heller. The challenge was to use warm or cool color palettes. You can see Amy's post here.

I pulled out my Silent Night collection and played with the cool palette. Here is the result.

I love this photo of my kids ♥ Linnea will take every single chance she gets to hug and kiss Adrian. Not that he is complaining....

I cut all the hearts with my Cameo and filled the page with them.

(Ha! I filled the page! I just have to link this layout up to the current "Fill 'er up" issue over at Paper Issues! Do you have any projects to link up? I am sure you do! Do it for your chance to win a $20 GC to the store!)

I don't use twine a lot. But it felt perfect here. I used it to add a subtle touch of black to the layout.

Some of the hearts, I adhered using 3D dots to add more dimension. I added little accents to the same hearts, such as little pink heart shaped pop drops and black tidbits.

That would be all for this time :-)

Love this Smile

I can't wait for this winter to be over! Can't. Wait. Not because I don't like cold weather and snow, but because I miss the light! All the grey and the darkness is killing me. Especially when I miss a deadline because I didn't have a chance to catch some daylight in time to photograph my layout! Arrrrrgh!

That's exactly what happened with this layout, which is my take on the last week's sketch over at Elle's Studio. I loved the sketch and I really wanted to play along. You can find the sketch HERE.

I have used the new Love You More! line. It's too cute for words!

I am sooooo happy that Elle now has these cute wood veneers included in her collections ♥

The rub-ons I've used are from the Luxe collection by Pink Paislee.

Seriously, how could you NOT love this smile?

You can find the Love You More! collection HERE in the Paper Issues store. Use ALEX20 at checkout to get 20% off your entire order.

Have you seen the current issue yet? The theme is "Fill 'er Up" and I am linking up this layout because this beautiful smile makes me happy :-) Link up your projects, old or new, for your chance to win a $20 GC to the store.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Issues: Fill 'er Up

Hi there! Ready for a new issue from Paper Issues? The new theme is "Fill 'er Up" and I can't wait to see all your awesome interpretations!

Here is mine:

I have used the Mixed Company collection by Heidi Swapp for my layout. I don't have much left of it now... boohoo... Can't wait for the new Heidi Swapp lines to hit the stores. They are gorgeous!

I love these photos of me and Linnea. Being her mom fulfills me, makes me happy, fills my heart with joy and unconditional love. That's my take on the "Fill 'er Up" theme. As a little bonus, I filled the heart shape with sequins. I cut the hearts with my Cameo using THIS file by Karla Dudley.

The clear alphas are also by Heidi Swapp and so is the disco heart and the arrow. The arrow is from the No Limits collection and the heart and the "adore" buzz word is from the Sugar Chic. The scalloped Sunshine trimming is from the Vintage Chic collection.

I love how easy to mix and match Heidi Swapp collections are.

So, head off to the Paper Issues blog and link up your "Fill 'er Up" projects for a chance to win a $20 GC to the store!
